Coordinated Recycle Planning

In researching lots of recycling and re-use avenues, its becomes a puzzle that almost any trash is left for the bin men at all.

But the critical links seems to be that while people can see certain erials and acknowledge they are in a condition good enough to be re-used, the project does not seem to be at hand for those specific materials. But a huge range of home and backyard projects exists which demand a complete varying multiplicity of material requirements!

Communicate a recycled materials wishlist with others. Remember, neighboring residents may have home gardens that need tomato trusses or lumber for stacked raised beds. Try throwing the spare lumber, parts, nails and screws, joists, pipes and tubes, fixtures or fittings into a pile and see what project emerges.

The key to effective re-use and effective sustainable sourcing for recycling materials efforts is to decide projects based on dumpster and curbside recycling materials available, or by Freecycle listings. Identify your dream project and start assembling the necessary materials.

Planning materials sourcing from reduced cost or recycled means allows hardware or other project investment. Make sure before you pull out the credit card at the lumber store or home shop you’ve sourced everything possible form the endpoint and curbside availability that you can.

Once there is a database online for recycled materials projects leading to details and project blueprint, but searchable by raw recycled materials, almost no landfills need ever be dug again. The industrialized processes of manufacture can be utilized more than one for better sustainability of consumer home living.

I just saw this killer project in Sunset magazine and it occurred to me to start matching end run recycling and home decor projects with their raw materials. That way recyclers will know what they “see” in the dumpsters.

Getting the network knowing about your intended project can work for you and your green living intentions. Free labor and tools borrowing is re-use gone crazy. But also, word can go out if there is a desire for a certain material. Sometimes people keep a huge hoard of raw materials they can’t even use stored in the garage or backyard. But someone wanting it might spring to liberation.

Pipe and drape design schemes as well as household repair and new home construction require constant PVC pipe introduction into the landscape and home use model. But this Sunset magazine PVC project looks like an inexpensive alternative to gazebos and zip-up kits that costs hundreds of dollars at home stores.
