If you think your resume is just fine as it is, take another look. See anything green on there? Green is the new network of power and resume screeners know to look for actively involved sustainability projects and re-use, recycling and eco-friendly prospects.

Does your resume speak green? The most progressive item on your curriculum vitae is a green credential or service. Your next employer might be looking for some green credibility in their next hire. So what have you done green lately?

Group recycling projects, community re-use of materials for a common structure, and reduction in overall energy consumption are goals that require many approaches. Putting some green on your resume could mean some green jobs and green organization careers might come your way. Just making people aware of recycling efforts and re-use programs is part time evangelizing.

Green resumes attract green employers. But many networks of green and eco-friendly contacts start when people come together to organize a campaign or work on a project. Getting together with Freecycle members from your area is a great way to network and brainstorm some projects. Just volunteering to transport or negotiate Freecycle trades can be contributing to sustainable living milestones.
The energy conservation and natural preservation effort usually covers Parks and Woodlands.

But even areas with no natural resources of this type can be a focus for recycling and beautification. Environmental issues require cleanup and volunteer efforts everywhere. Some people do not consider these activities popularly “green”. But litter cleanup and highway rescue efforts count as well. Neighborhood and community awareness groups can also be added to your resume.

Green living can be a full time coaching responsibility for new home owners, building designers, solar panel installation crews, and gardeners. If there are not current clubs and organizations in your area, obtain the rules of order or charter and minutes from a nearby one and start one yourself.

Just letting people know more about potential energy saving products and informing them about re-use opportunities can improve community knowledge and overall net green gains. Green living demands continual assessment of the techniques of living with attention to origin, detail, sourcing, processes of labor and manufacture and transportation of goods and services.

Green efficiency is best when local resources combine for sustainable production and upkeep. If you don’t have something on your resume concerning green technology, sustainable methods, conservation practices, and re-use and recycling activities, find a way to change this soon. Add a little green to your future.
