Have you ever held a Hall of Green meeting? You can put one on your calendar right now! The meeting place is your own home. These are just like the Hall of Justice meetings in the Saturday morning cartoons like Superman. Except now the Justice league must unite to overpower the deadly spread of mass consumables without re-use, and battle against non- sustainable building practices. The Hall of Green can come to order.

Nothing gets a community united toward sustainable energy consumption, green living, and intentionally preservational resource utility like a joint effort. The Hall of Green meeting can be a simple get together like a block party. Neighbors can bring lists of recyclables, pet peeves about nonrenewable energy practices, and contribute soda cans and plastic returnable bottles as dues. The Hall of Green can discuss neighborhood lighting, health, refuse, sanitation, and compost issues. Everyone can contribute a household tip or green living secret.

A Hall of Green group can organize a litter pickup by the side of the road, an antiques drive, a reclaimable woods project, or simply organize and plan another meeting. Officers should be chosen to consult online resources and gather news and methods of living sustainable for review. Feedback on living with new methods of green living and sustainable household living should occur.

Hall of Green meetings can be for every age and every gender. The handy men of the household can compare notes on rainwater catchments and gutter upspouting. The tech types can compare notes on the solar passive heating systems. The car fans can analyze hybrid vehicles. The kitchen wizards can compare how to make a green soup or recipe that utilizes all the herbs in the garden. The carpenter or interior designer can discuss lighting and architecture for best energy use and re-use.

Kids should not be left out of the sustainable living education curve. Kids are the most important pairs of ears when it comes to learning more about living green. Kids can start learning early how to take pride working with renewable resources and sustaining their environment with their own brainpower. The challenge of living with a sustainable and green attitude in a consumer economy takes some work. But the shared rewards of a cleaner, quieter, more pure planet will impel each member of the Hall of Green to new achievements and sustainable green living glory.
