Take a look at this cool semi-tunneled doorway into a closely guarded yard. This kind of innovation, design, and green living is a fabulous example of re-use at work. The overgrown ivy barrier actually fronts against a very noisy municipal pool across the street. The clean lines of the glass and the soft white cut the ivy wall masses from looking messy and unkempt.

Freecycled through the available materials pages near you and source a door from a local contributor who wants to recycle their discarded door instead of just dump it or waste it to a landfill. Look for a height that suits your surrounding fencing and try to get a door with hardware still attached.
If possible, get used sandpaper and used spray paint or liquid enamel to coat the door. The door should be examined for soundness and freedom from pests. Make sure hingeware correlates to existing mating hinge mounts or re-mount them at the right corresponding locations on the door.
